Member Introductions!

Come on in and introduce yourself! I'll start.

I'm AnGella, I started this network after we lost the use of Skem9.com. I had so much fun there learning how to do this stuff and seeing all the work other people made that I wanted to keep posting with others. I had started my own site to offer my design services but it was no fun posting alone. So here we are!

I'm pretty easy going. I'm modest. I'm an artaholic. I always wanted to be an artist when I grew up. My Senior year in High School was all art classes except for one required class... Econ. I wanted to go to MCAD (Minneapolis College of Art and Design) but didn't have the money post graduation. Then I guess I fell into the trap of believing I could never make a living with my art. Ok, I'm still not making any money on my art... but maybe one day. I really only got back into creating it in the past year.

I went to college when I was 25. I was able to apply for loans and grants at that time. I put art on the back burner and went for a degree in Anthropology with an emphasis in Forensics. (Death Investigation) I love it as much as art but just can't picture myself around dead people all day every day. I'd much rather make art even if it doesn't pay as well. There's that modesty... I don't need much in the way of possessions. Happiness is much more valuable to me.

Hi guys! I'm BB, or BethieB, as I was known on Skem9.

I met John online way before Skem even had a forum set up. Besides Shane and John (of course) I was one of the first mods on Skem. With the exception of just a few LOA's, (haha) I was there every day until it shut down...how many years was that? 4 or 5? I don't know exactly, but it was a long time and I had a lot of fun and made great friends.

I found this site when I heard about Bubblebutt (aka Tina). I had been told about it before but hadn't had a chance to check it out. Now I'm glad I did.

I am a homeschooling, SAH mom of a 7 year old and wife of a treetrimmer for Asplundh, and I also provide daycare for babies. When I have free time (yeah right) I make quilts and write stories. I am a very spiritual person and am thankful every day for the Bible and for God. I spend a LOT of time in Photoshop (just got CS3 again and am relearning how to use it slowly but surely) but it's been a long time since I made a layout of any kind.

I am hardly ever on my myspace, I actually use FB a lot because that's where my family is at. But I miss making my myspace page all beautimous, so I'm glad I'm here!

Then we moved out into the country and I couldnt afford the internet access at the time almost two years later we are finally back online and I had discovered my beloved skem9 was gone but now I have found this site and am sooo glad I did thanks so much!

Thanks and nice to meet you ~ I am similar to you in I have both medical and arts background but I have not been used to the nature of media as in on the web as far as design is concerned.

I am far more tangible and do 3 Dimensional design and pottery ~ Art in many forms has always been a big part of my life, I cannot think of a day without being creative in some form or other ~

Medical background was nursing ~ eons ago in England,

I think forensics would be fascinating, I love all the shows like that and have always loves the diagnostic procedure.

I am studying Graphic Design or some such thing online at the moment in hope to learn more in the way of this media and there is a huge huge difference !!

Glad to meet you Jenna! I am also fairly new to the digital media and more experienced in traditional media. You will find I mix my photography with my digital manips. :) I haven't really shared any actual paintings here though. It is likely I won't.

If you have any questions about it, don't hesitate to ask. I'll do my best to answer. I've been missing a lot the past couple days because my son was sick. I'll be online again this evening after chores though and generally check in through out the day. :)

Hi all,this is Dave,known as Hunter.I was born and still live in Maine.For 30 years I was a commercial fisherman,mostly on the east coast.
I now work my gem and mineral quarry,prospect for gold and treasure hunt during the warm months.In winter I switch gears(sorry)..lol and I drive a logging truck.
I love art,I have since I was in high school.I paint when I have free time,mostly landscapes and seascapes.
I love to read,give me a good book over the boobtube anytime.
Besides art my second love is music,i started playing guitar when I was seven and I now play keyboards also.
I love most types of music except rap...thats me....peace

I'm married and have 3 grown daughters and 9 grandchildren,one
of which has Cystic Fibrosis.
I just fell in love with the talent of everyone here.
I don't do any of this type of work but I love it.
I would love to someday have a page for Cystic Fibrosis.

Welcome! Yes the coding is a bit different here. There are over 6,000 ways to write the same code, lol. :) I wrote the code that I use shortly after joining Ning. Before this I had really only done Myspace layouts. If you need help finding the right tutorial or an image specific type of question just let me know. Most of our tutorials have been put into site specific groups.
