Today I found out that my parents dog, Milo (8 year old boxer) had passed away this morning in the kennel he was staying at while my parents were away for the weekend. They got the call this morning. The kennel personnel stated that Milo was a fun, happy boxer while they were gone. They said they loved him and played with him all weekend and one girl stated she laid down on the grass with him. My parents wanted an autopsy and they found out that he died of a bloat which is where a dog gets gas in the stomach and can't release it which causes the stomach to twist around causing oxygen flow to cut off. This is the same condition that the dog had in the movie 'Marley & Me'. The only signs that Milo showed was that he was more thirsty than usual. This condition is common among large dogs as they age.
I am very heartbroken to have lost Milo. I was with my mom 8 years ago when we went to go get him. We bought him from a couple who raised boxers in Riley, TN. I picked Milo out for my mom. I said, 'Look mom, that one right there is the one for you since he has huge paws'. Most puppies with huge paws grow up to be big dogs and Milo proved that theory, weighing over 100 pounds. I even helped name him for my mom (Kingston Milo) German names! Sorry but I had to vent to you guys. Milo will be sooo missed by all our family members. He was one of us :) I LOVE YOU MILO FOREVER!
Here is Milo w. my niece 3 years ago...Rest In Peace Milo!
