Warning... RANT Coming on...

I am so frustrated with my Uncle. We go to his house every weekend and do his yard work and other misc. jobs he finds for us to do (cleaning carpet, gutters, folding his laundry, pulling his weeds, filling his water softener, watch his dog when he is gone all day or on vacation, etc...).

We suggested that if he can't take care of the home that we should look for a place to live together. Scott puts in 50-60 plus hours a week at work, we want to move from this condo, and taking care of two homes is not something we want to do. He tells me he is not sure that he wants to do that, so I informed him that we will not be able to help him anymore then. He still seems to expect us to take care of his house for him when I haven't even been able to get my house ready for Vincent's arrival. How do you get it through to some one that you can't do everything for them?!

Well, your mom is much more in need of the help than my uncle is. Your anger sounds like it is more with your siblings who are not helping. That would send me over the edge too. What to do when you love some one and want to help, but you just can't do it all. Is your mom still in her own home? Sounds like she needs assisted living.

I know what you mean. Scott's parents live in denial of how they treated the kids, but I have heard the stories. Not just from Scott, but his sister has told some that Scott didn't even remember happened to him. Funny the traumatic things you block from your memory.

I have a feeling the control issues are why my uncle wouldn't want to share a house too. If they want to spend their money on nursing homes then so be it I guess. I know when my grandma went to one it cost over $7000 per month. I can not imagine that expense.

Yes, I will admit it was a bit of a relief that he doesn't seem interested in the idea because it would be tough to take care of him. At the same time, I am such a worry wart. lol We've been doing these chores for him for nearly 10 years. Until Scott started working all these hours it wasn't as tiring. Some weeks he is working 50 hours and some he is working 60 plus hours including Saturdays. We don't ever get a weekend to relax with each other, I know some people who don't get along with their spouse would love that... but we actually want to have more time with each other and the kids. lol No can still be a hard thing for me to say and follow through with. I may be a stay at home mom, but that does not mean I have all the time in the world, I home school. That can take an enormous chunk of time some days and less on others.

Nope I have no message from you in my inbox. Try deleting your history, when Ning updates and history isn't cleared it can cause issues.
