I hope all has been going well here. It's been fairly busy at my house. We have just begun a new business and have been doing comparison shopping. Finally got a good Craftsman Mower on sale this weekend. Now I will be working on building my Lawn Service website, designing fliers cutting them and delivering them to some chosen neighborhoods.
As if that were not enough to keep me busy, I have also been getting my homeschool room ready. Our basement has been turned into a playroom/schoolroom. The final thing for me to work on now is planning curriculum for 3rd grade. I had tried
Unschoolling and I really like the idea, however it doesn't hurt to try new things ether.
Here is a quote which inspired me to try unschooling:
"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him go and come freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table, while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of coloured paper, or plant straw trees in bead flower-pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be got rid of, before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experience." -- Anne Sullivan
Did I mention chores? Yes, they have been neglected and I still need to take care of them as well. I'll be here when I can sneak in the time. If Anyone needs me just send a message!
