As much as I hate Flash, ActionScript is much more annoying. Apples and oranges, though.

It takes so much to do anything. It's like Javascript's miscarried fetus vomited a bowel movement.

Go to Task manager-> performance, and watch the CPU usage graph(s) for a few minutes while you're using Firefox normally. Then click on a YouTube video and watch the spike.

I actually had a little widget in my toolbar to watch that. I think more RAM will help me continue my bad tabbing habit. Also restarting more often than once a week has made great improvements. I swear. days go by and I have forgotten to restart this tired ole girl.

As long as you manage your processes (i.e. making sure that when they're closed, they're closed), restarting doesn't do much. If you're in Windows Vista/7 Look into disabling prefetch/superfetch. Those two things store your programs in memory even after you close them, so they take less time to start up, but on a low-resource machine, it's often better to just wait the extra second or two for the program to start on its own.

I have been exiting some programs that like to auto start even if I am not signing in. like google talk, skype, etc. it has helped. I will do a search for those programs. Thanks.
